Cad/Cam

In 1999 Datum invested in CAD/CAM technology in the form of a Bridgeport VMC, operating with the very latest DELCAM Software. This enables us to take your 2D drawings and produce 3D CAD data, machine the equipment required and in many cases reduce the lead time by up to 50%.

Datum also has an additional seat of Pro-E Cad Modeller for Solid Modelling.

Alternatively, our customers can supply us with the fully programmed CAD data and we will machine and finish the equipment ready for use.

The cad data file types we can use includes the following: dgk, dmt, iges, dwg, dxf, Catia, Pro E, Unigraphics, Solidworks, Step & vda.

Datum currently operate Five CNC machines with a maximum machining envelope of 2 Metres (X Axis) x 1 Metre (Y Axis) x 1 Metre (Z Axis).
